account safety

If your gig app deactivates you, do this first

Algorithmic account actions can cut off primary income overnight. This guide is educational — not legal advice — and focuses on documentation, platform appeal channels, and reducing single-app risk.

Updated September 7, 2026

  1. Screenshot the deactivation notice, trip history, and rating panels immediately.
  2. Use the platform’s official appeal path before paying random “fix my account” services.
  3. Multi-app and keep tax/banking records outside any single platform.

Preserve evidence the same day

Save the email/in-app notice, recent trip IDs, customer complaint texts if any, and background-check messages. Export earnings and mileage from your tracker so tax season still works if the app stays closed.

Use official appeal channels

Each platform publishes a help-center appeal flow. Stick to facts, trip IDs, and timelines. Avoid posting account credentials to third-party “recovery” pages. For tickets or serious legal exposure, talk to a qualified attorney in your state — we do not sell legal plans on this page.

Reduce single-point failure

Drivers who multi-app recover faster when one platform locks. Keep banking (Found/Novo), mileage (Everlance/Gridwise), and tax set-asides independent of Uber or DoorDash dashboards.
